Becoming a member opens up wonderful opportunities to engage with other bat-minded people, and to learn about the latest developments in research and conservation of bats in Australia and beyond.
Members have access to our discussion list, receive two newsletters a year, can apply for our grants programme, and may attend the bi-annual conference.
Our not-for-profit society relies on its membership contributions and donations to fund its activities that are aimed squarely at promoting the conservation of all bats in Australasia. The ABS Executive, the ABS Extended Executive, the ABS Flying-Fox Expert Group, and other members offer their time and expertise for free, but funds are needed to support the ABS Grants programme, conferences, bat forums, bat posters and fact sheets, as well as for hosting the ABS website and members portal (to name but a few).
